What do I need to rent a vehicle?
A valid physical driver's license, a credit or debit card in your name for the security deposit (prepaid cards can't be used for it), and completed identity verification. Visitors from abroad also need a passport, plus an International Driving Permit if their license isn't in the Latin alphabet. You can finish verification online before pickup, so pickup takes just a few minutes.
How does the security deposit work?
We place a hold on your card at pickup; it isn't a charge. It's $250 for main drivers 25 and older, $500 for drivers under 25, and $100 for drivers 25 and older with 3 or more completed rentals and no damage reports. Some vehicles carry their own deposit, shown on the vehicle page. The hold is released within 72 hours of return if nothing is owed, and it is never used for damage.
Can I cancel or change my reservation?
Yes. Cancel at least 48 hours before pickup for a full refund. Later cancellations carry a fee of 25% of the rental total, and no-shows aren't refunded. You can change your dates online up to 24 hours before pickup and pay or get back the difference.
Is mileage included?
Each vehicle page shows whether mileage is unlimited or how many miles a day are included. A daily allowance is shared across your whole rental. For vehicles with an allowance, you can usually add unlimited mileage at checkout.
