Driver's license
Every driver needs a valid, unexpired physical driver's license with a photo, in their own name and valid for the whole rental. Mobile or digital licenses, photocopies and learner's permits are not accepted. A temporary paper license is accepted only together with your previous license or a government-issued photo ID, and only if it is valid for the whole rental. Licenses that only allow driving vehicles fitted with an ignition interlock cannot be accepted. Carry your physical license whenever you drive.
Visiting from another country
Bring your home-country license and your passport. If your license is not in the Latin (Roman) alphabet, you also need an International Driving Permit, and we recommend one for any license not in English. An International Driving Permit on its own is not enough.
Identity verification
Before pickup, the main driver uploads photos of the front and back of their license and, when asked, a selfie. Our team checks the details and may ask for more information. Contactless pickup is available once verification is approved.
Additional drivers
Tell us how many additional drivers you need at checkout, and bring each of them to pickup with their license so we can check it and add them to the rental agreement. Each must meet the vehicle's minimum age. Your spouse, civil union partner or a domestic partner who lives at your address drives at no charge. Other additional drivers pay a daily fee, shown at checkout. Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive.
Payment card
The main driver needs a credit or debit card in their own name for the security deposit. Prepaid and gift cards cannot be used for the deposit.
When we may decline a rental
We may decline a rental when a license is suspended, revoked, expired or cannot be verified, when the details provided do not match, or when an earlier rental with us left unpaid charges or was used in a way our terms do not allow.
